Where does Playwrite stand on Toy Safety ?
Released: 28 February 2008
Playwrite offers Quality & Value.
Quality is never an accident, but is the result of intelligent effort. The disappointment that follows from poor quality remains long after the low pricing is forgotten. Quality must include Safety.
Value for Money shows in all our products. They are thoughtfully designed, keenly priced and attractively packaged. These are the toys that children choose. It follows that Value must include Safety.
Lots of people are talking about High Standards. High Standards are good, but without a process in place to make sure that they're being adhered to, they don't mean a thing
The Safety of our products is a critical issue for Playwrite, our customers and consumers, and Playwrite is a founder member of TOYCRED, the Safety Accreditation system for the toy industry. TOYCRED is independently audited, and in recent years has become the “Blue Chip” indicator for the toy trade that all necessary precautions are taken to ensure that products supplied are safe.
The Bottom Line? Playwrite’s TOYCRED Accreditation provides our customers with the confidence that they are dealing with an established and reliable supplier who is committed to Quality and Value, and above all, Safety.

TOYCRED requires, amongst other things, that a Member Company:
- Has a person responsible for product safety.
- Has a system for ensuring products comply with relevant UK & EU Safety legislation.
- Assesses its suppliers for their ability to produce safe products.
- Assesses products for safety before placing them on the market.
- Has a complaints procedure to be followed with issues arising from consumers, customers or enforcement authorities.
- Has sufficient and up to date product liability insurance.
- Conducts periodic internal auditing of the system.
As a Founder member of TOYCRED, Playwrite is committed to Quality and Value with Safety.
